Liquid chlorine is a yellow-green oily liquid, toxic, with a specific gravity of 1.4256 at 15 ° C. Under standard conditions, the boiling point is -34.6 ° C and the freezing point is -101.5 ° C. It is strongly corrosive to steel in the presence of moisture. Therefore, liquid chlorine is a corrosive and toxic medium. These characteristics determine that crane pipes need to be designed specifically for these characteristics during loading and unloading operations. Liquid chlorine is a basic chemical raw material, which can be used in metallurgy, textile, papermaking and other industries, and is a raw material for the synthesis of hydrochloric acid, polyvinyl chloride, plastics, and pesticides.
